The internet has made the whole world into a ‘global village’. The evolution of technology/ internet and new trends has revolutionized aspects of our lives both professionally and personally. The emergence of present waves i.e., internet, email, and e-commerce made an impact, and changed the way people think, interact and behave, and these waves are sweeping every field of human life including the law and legal aspects in the cyber space.

The Indian Parliament has enacted the Information Technology Act, 2000, to regulate the use of cyberspace within the jurisdiction of this country. The Act, provides legal recognition to electronic documents and a framework to support e-filing and e-commerce transactions and also provides a legal framework to mitigate, check cyber-crimes.
